SV	En niet alleen door zijn komst, maar ook door de vertroosting, met welke hij over u vertroost is geweest, als hij ons verhaalde uw verlangen, uw kermen, uw ijver voor mij; alzo dat ik te meer verblijd ben geweest.

Alex	ου μονον δε εν τη παρουσια αυτου αλλα και εν τη παρακλησει η παρεκληθη εφ υμιν αναγγελλων ημιν την υμων επιποθησιν τον υμων οδυρμον τον υμων ζηλον υπερ εμου ωστε με μαλλον χαρηναι
ASV	and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort wherewith he was comforted in you, while he told us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced yet more.
BE	And not by his coming only, but by the comfort which he had in you, while he gave us word of your desire, your sorrow, your care for me; so that I was still more glad.
Byz	ου μονον δε εν τη παρουσια αυτου αλλα και εν τη παρακλησει η παρεκληθη εφ υμιν αναγγελλων ημιν την υμων επιποθησιν τον υμων οδυρμον τον υμων ζηλον υπερ εμου ωστε με μαλλον χαρηναι
Darby	and not by his coming only, but also through the encouragement with which he was encouraged as to you; relating to us your ardent desire, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I the more rejoiced.
ELB05	Nicht allein aber durch seine Ankunft, sondern auch durch den Trost, womit er eurethalben getröstet wurde, als er uns kundtat eure Sehnsucht, euer Wehklagen, euren Eifer für mich, so daß ich mich um so mehr freute.

Sch	und nicht bloß durch seine Ankunft, sondern auch durch den Trost, welchen er bei euch empfangen hatte. Als er uns von eurer Sehnsucht, eurer Klage, eurem Eifer für mich berichtete, da freute ich mich noch mehr.
Scriv	ου μονον δε εν τη παρουσια αυτου αλλα και εν τη παρακλησει η παρεκληθη εφ υμιν αναγγελλων ημιν την υμων επιποθησιν τον υμων οδυρμον τον υμων ζηλον υπερ εμου ωστε με μαλλον χαρηναι
Web	And not by his coming only, but by the consolation with which he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind towards me; so that I rejoiced the more.
Weym	but also by the fact that he had felt comforted on your account, and by the report which he brought of your eager affection, of your grief, and of your jealousy on my behalf, so that I rejoiced more than ever.
